Description
The Old Stone Church is a historical building that has survived its share of tragedy. Located in Central Massachusetts, the church was built in the early 1890's to replace a wooden church that was destroyed by fire. Shortly after being built on the same site, it was the victim of a serious fire in the interior of the church. The the water you see in front of the church, the Wachusett's Reservoir was created, flooding much of the area, leaving this building as the last structure of the area at the time. Then in the 1970's it was listed on the National Historic Registery and then tragedy struck again, as the roof and three walls caved in. They were rebuilt and what is left is the stone shell of the chuch with the interior being empty, save for some steel beams supporting the the gable end walls. Still, it's a beautiful site that I am glad has been preserved.

I love how the flag appears to melt into the water. Beautiful photo, Rod.

Thanks John. I was really trying to hurry to capture the reflection before the ripples took over too much!
