Artist's Description

The City of New Orleans Riverboat passes in front of the New Orleans skyline as it heads down the Mississippi River in the early evening. I was shooting the skyline when I saw the river boat coming into view, so I quickly adjusted the settings on my camera so that I could capture the riverboat! I really like how I was able to capture the riverboat, but still have a slow enough shutter speed to be able to show the motion of the river wheel in the back and the water flowing off from the wheel!

When travelling, I will generally have my camera with me so that I can capture images from across the country with scenes such as cityscapes from Baton Rouge or Cleveland along the waterfront, to the Mountains of the Pacific Northwest! My photography is about showcasing the grandeur of the scene and quite often the subtle interplay of light and shadow, texture, and color. Whether it's the serene calm of a misty river...
