Artist's Description
This is but a small intimate look at Pratt's Falls in Onondaga County, with the fall foliage framing the falls. The entire falls is 137 ft tall descending from a small portion of Limestone Creek. The falls was named after Manoah Pratt who with a partner, Abraham Smith built Onondaga County's first sawmill in the late 1700's, which later became a flour mill.
About Rod Best
Welcome to my gallery!! I am an Upstate NY based photographer who tries to capture the essence of landscapes, nature, and cityscapes with an eye for detail. Specializing in the scenic beauty of the Adirondack Mountains, Thousand Islands, Finger Lakes of New York State as well as the Central New York area, where I am from! When travelling, I will generally have my camera with me so that I can capture images from across the country with scenes such as cityscapes from Baton Rouge or Cleveland along the waterfront, to the Mountains of the Pacific Northwest! My photography is about showcasing the grandeur of the scene and quite often the subtle interplay of light and shadow, texture, and color. Whether it's the serene calm of a misty river...
