Artist's Description
Painted Daisies is a photograph of some wild daisies I found growing along the Oswego River in Upstate NY. Using a shallow depth of field combined with a slight breeze created a lot of the blur that you see in the image. Once I had the image where I wanted it, I added a digital filter to simulate an impressionistic oil painting of the daisies, which I think works really well for this image!
About Rod Best

Welcome to my gallery!! I am an Upstate NY based photographer who tries to capture the essence of landscapes, nature, and cityscapes with an eye for detail. Specializing in the scenic beauty of the Adirondack Mountains, Thousand Islands, Finger Lakes of New York State as well as the Central New York area, where I am from! When travelling, I will generally have my camera with me so that I can capture images from across the country with scenes such as cityscapes from Baton Rouge or Cleveland along the waterfront, to the Mountains of the Pacific Northwest! My photography is about showcasing the grandeur of the scene and quite often the subtle interplay of light and shadow, texture, and color. Whether it's the serene calm of a misty river...
