Artist's Description
We were lucky enough to get inside of the Old First Church in Bennington, VT after regular public hours had ended and pretty much had the place to ourselves for about 30 minutes. What I love about this church is the history of it and the simplicity of it. It also has a rather unique feature, in that it has pew boxes instead of traditional pews on the ground level. Each pew box has a gate that lets you in and there is seating on three sides of the pew box. I just thought this was a wonderful place of worship.
About Rod Best

Welcome to my gallery!! I am an Upstate NY based photographer who tries to capture the essence of landscapes, nature, and cityscapes with an eye for detail. Specializing in the scenic beauty of the Adirondack Mountains, Thousand Islands, Finger Lakes of New York State as well as the Central New York area, where I am from! When travelling, I will generally have my camera with me so that I can capture images from across the country with scenes such as cityscapes from Baton Rouge or Cleveland along the waterfront, to the Mountains of the Pacific Northwest! My photography is about showcasing the grandeur of the scene and quite often the subtle interplay of light and shadow, texture, and color. Whether it's the serene calm of a misty river...
