Artist's Description

While waiting for the ferry at Anacortes, Washington, I saw this beautiful scene unfolding in front of me. I had to jump out of the car and capture this scene while the sun was fighting to burn through the marine layer of fog/mist. Within just a few minutes, the sun faded away and all of the colors disappeared.

About Rod Best

Rod Best

Welcome to my gallery!! I am an Upstate NY based photographer who tries to capture the essence of landscapes, nature, and cityscapes with an eye for detail. Specializing in the scenic beauty of the Adirondack Mountains, Thousand Islands, Finger Lakes of New York State as well as the Central New York area, where I am from! When travelling, I will generally have my camera with me so that I can capture images from across the country with scenes such as cityscapes from Baton Rouge or Cleveland along the waterfront, to the Mountains of the Pacific Northwest! My photography is about showcasing the grandeur of the scene and quite often the subtle interplay of light and shadow, texture, and color. Whether it's the serene calm of a misty river...
