Artist's Description

The setting sun puts a golden glow on the LT-5 tugboat, also known as the Nash. This tugboat originally named the Major Elisha K Henson, actually participated in the invasion of Normandy by ferrying ammunition to the beaches for the troops. If you look closely at the smoke stack you will see the image of a German Fighter Aircraft that was shot down by the LT-5 crew! This piece of history, one of the last remaining active vessels from World War II, now belongs to the Oswego, NY Maritime Museum and can be toured.
